Manju Warrier, Tamannaah, Shriya Saran and Amyra Dastur who spoke at the India Today South Conclave 2017 gave their perspective on South cinema, north-south divide and much more. Talking about south’s obsession with fairness and beauty, Manju Warrier said that she doesn’t possess the beauty of a perfect heroine. “In Malayalam cinema, the creators have always believed in celebrating the inner beauty of the character and not in beauty,” said Manju Warrier. Shriya and Tamannaah complimented the actress Manju Warrier that she is extremely beautiful and bloody hot!
Shriya answered that beauty and fairness have nothing to do with becoming a heroine. Milky beauty Tamannaah also agreed to the same and said that that there is no obsession with fairness down South. She added that she had to tan herself for few films, one of them being Baahubali which was a superhit. “Unfortunately, our country is obsessed about fair skin. But, I think that Indian colour is beautiful,” said Tamannaah.
